Skydio released a few weeks ago new firmware that includes a new feature called WLAN hopping.The result is that you often cannot detect the Skydio RemoteID signal anymore! Solution: upgrade to our latest bridge or DroneScout (ds230/240) firmware.
Drone manufacturers like Skydio release from time to time new firmware for their drones. In the latest Skydio firmware of a few weeks ago, a new feature was introduced called “WLAN hopping”. As a result, the Skydio RemoteID signal could not be detected anymore by our Bridge devices (ds110/ds110) and bigger DroneScout units (ds230/ds240).
We analyzed the behavior of the new Skydio firmware and found a solution by implementing an “anti WLAN hopping” algorithm to keep detecting Skydio drones!
Upgrade the ds110/ds110 to firmware 20260609-1408 to keep detecting Skydio drones. For the DroneScout ds230/ds240 invoke the update command to upgrade to version 20260623-1549.
